Come celebrate fall with us at the historic Cedar Creek Grist Mill!
Join us for one of our favorite annual traditions! Watch apples being washed, transported to the mill, and pressed into fresh cider using the historic, water-powered grist mill. Should we not have enough water in the flume to power the mill, we do have an electric motor in place to operate the mill so that this event can go on! Enjoy the sights and sounds of the mill in action, listen to live bluegrass music, and experience a special piece of Washington history.
Bring your family and friends, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and help support the preservation of this incredible historic landmark!
Cider Sales & Donations
Cider doors open at 9:00 AM and stay open until we run out of apples! (Typically ending between 2pm & 4pm)
- Donation: $8 per half gallon
- Limit: 2 half gallons per adult
- Cash is preferred (There is no cell service and limited wifi at the mill, thus limiting our ability to accept electronic donations)
Your donation goes directly toward helping the mill continue operating throughout the year. Cedar Creek Grist Mill remains open to visitors every Saturday and Sunday, year-round, and your support helps make that possible.
Your generosity also supports the ongoing preservation and maintenance projects necessary to protect our historic mill, including our newly completed roof project and upcoming projects such as siding replacement, sealing the flume, and maintaining the caretaker’s cabin.
Thank you for helping preserve this special piece of history for future generations!
What to See & Do?
Apple Washing Station
Visit the apple washing station at the caretaker’s cabin, located on the north side of the creek from the grist mill. Watch as the apples are prepared before being transported to the mill for pressing.
Watch the Cider-Making Process
Head over to the mill to see the apples pressed and the fresh cider poured into jugs. Cider sales begin when the cider doors open at 9:00 AM. The line can be long, but the wait is well worth it!
Not purchasing cider? You are still welcome to walk around the grounds and inside the mill to enjoy the cider-making process and explore this historic landmark.
Live Bluegrass Music
Enjoy live bluegrass musicians playing on the back deck, beginning around 9:00–10:00 AM.
Halloween Fun at the Caretaker’s Cabin!
Since our Annual Cider Pressing Event falls on Halloween, we invite all our little ghouls and goblins to wear their Halloween costumes and stop by the caretaker’s cabin for some spooky fun!
Photo Opportunity
A life-size statue of Jason from the film Jason Rising 2 will be on display at the caretaker’s cabin, giving visitors a unique Halloween photo opportunity!
Come dressed in your Halloween best, enjoy the cider-making tradition, and make some memorable fall memories at the mill. We can’t wait to see your costumes!
